Axis GeoSpatial uses the latest aerial cameras certified and calibrated by the US Geological Survey in Fixed-Wing and Helicopter Platforms. If your project is ready to fly today and the weather is suitable, we’ll fly your project tomorrow and if you let us know early in the day, we might get it today! How’s that for service?

Fixed-Wing Flight Services – Traditionally used for map scales ranging from 1” = 20’ and smaller and contour intervals 6 inches and above. Highest horizontal and vertical accuracy can be within tenths of a foot.

Helicopter Flight Services – Primarily used in Roadway construction and resurfacing. Axis GeoSpatial can fly 300’ above the road corridor and map data within hundredths of a foot. Give us a call to see if your project could benefit from this service. Sometimes it is safer for us to map from within our office than have surveyors playing in busy traffic.

Black & White Photography – Used mainly in “map data only” projects. On most mapping projects, will fly B&W photography as a standard if plan & topo is all that’s required.

Color Photography – Used when you need to make a great presentation with your customer or decision makers. Can also be used to enhance the mapping effort. With the added dimension of Color in the photography, we’re able to depict and identify features more reliably which can be a time savor on projects such as ALTA Surveys. Don’t forget to check into Color Digital OrthoImagery and see what added capability it gives you.

Color Infrared Photography – Primarily used for wetland and forestry applications, this photography allows engineers and scientists to study landforms, vegetation health patterns, environmental pollution, and other effects on the area captured. For example, leaves of healthy, growing vegetation reflect a high level of near-infrared wavelengths and appear red on color-infrared film. Unhealthy or dormant vegetation may appear light red or a light shade of blue-green (cyan), depending on the plant's degree of good health. These color distinctions make color-infrared photographs useful in assessing the health of plants. Water, on the other hand, absorbs near-infrared wavelengths and appears black in the image. Water with varying amounts of suspended particles appears as shades of blue. Also, near-infrared wavelengths penetrate atmospheric haze and result in clear, crisp images.

Spot-Shots and Obliques – Yes … we do those as well; in the film of your choice. From the spot-shots we can produce scaled enlargements of your entire project on any media including digital.

Enlargements – From 11” x 17” to 50” x 50”, we can enlarge the aerial photograph of your site on any media you desire. We can also provide it to you digitally and you can print it as many times as you need.

Film Scanning – Using our in-house DSW600 film scanner which is the best in the industry with the highest throughput, we scan every photo we capture allowing you to have it digitally whenever you need. We archive all photography in TIFF or TIFF/JPEG so don’t forget to inquire into having them delivered on your next project.
