County, MD
Countywide Digital Mapping Project – Primary
objectives were to provide the County with several Geospatial
Data Deliverables which will be used in their GIS to
manage and enhance their Emergency Management Center
and Planning and Zoning Department. This project involved
flying Talbot, Dorchester and Wicomico Counties (approximately
1,500 sq.mi.) with 6” Pixel ADS40 Imagery for
seamless color digital orthoimagery in both True Color
and Color Infrared. ADS40 L1 stereo imagery was also
produced to update Talbot’s planimetric data as
well as supplement existing 2003 LiDAR data with breaklines
in order to produce countywide 2’ Contours. The
incorporated towns and other communities were flown
with AGPS aerial film to produce .25’ pixel imagery
conducive to 50-scale mapping applications. Approximately
80 different angles of low-altitude Color Oblique Imagery
was also flown for all towns and delivered in TIFF format.
AXIS was contracted to update the County’s existing
planimetric data, street/road centerline data, address
point data, parcel data and emergency response map books.
In addition, AXIS was contracted to develop a nautical
navigation layer, develop an ArcIMS website, implement
ArcSDE and maintain their parcel and address data for
a period of 5 years.
