  • Statewide Contract Awarded! Announced formally in March, the Maryland State Highway Administration awarded AXIS the contract to provide geospatial data products derived from precision aerial technologies to facilitate the activities of Maryland’s GIS Community. Teaming with experts in the areas of ADS40 Aerial Image Acquisition, Aerial Film Acquisition, LIDAR, Multi-band Digital Orthophotography Production and GIS Base Mapping, this two year initiative will obtain Statewide Digital OrthoImagery in multiple ground pixel resolutions and in multiple color bands (true color and Near Infrared).

  • Talbot, Dorchester and Wicomico Counties have awarded $2.5 Million in Contracts for comprehensive, hi-tech, 911 mapping and precision geospatial services using both aerial film and precision ADS40 technology. Nautical navigation features, map books and wall maps will be added to the Counties’ mapping suite.

  • AXIS, in a noticeable trend affecting the photogrammetric industry, has added to its suite of services a high accuracy helicopter platform working in conjunction with LiDAR technology. This fully integrated helicopter-based system provides highly accurate terrain measurement concurrently with high-resolution digital photography, engendering vertical accuracy of approximately two inches. Integrating the simultaneous collection of data from multiple sensors couples the need for high resolution imagery with improved response time and cost.

  • AXIS, in a joint venture with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, was selected by the Maryland State Highway Administration to provide GIS consulting, CADD-design maps and digital OrthoPhotography using helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft photogrammetric surveys. The technical proposal submitted by AXIS & JMT was ranked number one for this three-year, $1M contract.

  • We’re growing! Headquartered on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, we now have sites in Rochester, New York and Boulder, Colorado.

  • AXIS continues to develop and expand our flight library in scope, area and scale, reaching an archive of nearly 700 engineering sites covering territory from New York to Virginia.
